Wolf Journey Teen Program

The Wolf Journey Teen Program includes educational travel for homeschoolers and other teens who have Fridays available for enrichment study. Students under 13 may also be accepted on a case-by-case basis, otherwise we recommend our Blue Skye Kids Program taking place on Mondays.

Spring Quarter 2013 is our pilot quarter, and the theme will be self-sufficiency which has a double meaning: first, teens will be learning how possible it is to produce everything needed to live without dependence on stores; second, they will learn how to care for their own health and well being without dependence on others, and in fact, they will develop leadership skills for mentoring peers, and even guiding all ages in the outdoors.

Background

Classes will be based around the Wolf Journey Earth Conservation Courses and students who complete field exercises in advance of each class will receive a personal review of their work, as well as tutoring to prepare them for subsequent field exercises. Take a look at Field Exercise 1A - Exploring Potential Study Sites for an example of what would be expected homework between classes. Whether or not you follow the Wolf Journey curriculum at home, students are welcome to attend simply to enjoy the topics taught directly in class.

Instructors Kim & Chris Chisholm have a combined 25 year teaching experience including homeschool groups, starting in 1990 when Chris taught middle school classes at Family Unity Int'l in Quito, Ecuador, then teaching music and spanish lessons as well as nature classes for homeschoolers in Bellingham WA starting in 1995.
